Story
Journeys 1997 was a thousand-mile canoe trip from Hazelton on the Skeena River to Victoria’s Inner Harbor. The route we took is an ancient one, used by the ancestors of all of British Columbia’s Coastal People. Our particular undertaking was unique as it was a fundraising event.
When dawn came to the beach at Open Bight, it brought an air of anticipation to this special day. It was time to make the rounding of Cape Caution, the most exciting and notorious section of Queen Charlotte Sound. The weather looked unsettled; the forecast was for light-to-moderate north westerlies. All in all, it was a promising day.
My canoe is named Nunsulsailus, a Tsartlip word meaning many hands. The name was chosen for the significance of hands: hands working together, supporting one another, and pulling together in unison to enable our canoe to travel many miles; hands helping to build a center to benefit anyone wishing to overcome addictions.
Nunuslasilus carried us over the huge ground swells and gusting winds of Cape Caution without incident. The 18-foot-high waves threatened to swamp us, yet we rode them safely. Many hands pulled together and gave Nunsulsailus the power and stability to navigate a famous stretch of water without faltering. It was an exhilarating ride on the sea that none of us will ever forget. That day was one of the most memorable for me.
This work is dedicated to the crews of Nunsulsailus and all those who continue to lend a helping hand to the ongoing work of Vision Quest.

Shockingly good Little Golden Book
Format: Hardcover
Yeah, this is a Little Golden Book, but in many ways it seems more like something that would be a special addition to a boxed set of the 1980's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series. It's written as if April O'Neil is talking to the reader directly and it gives a pretty good overview of each of the turtles and their personalities/roles, how the turtles and splinter became mutants, who their enemies are, and references a few reoccurring characters from the series. My kids have been watching a lot of the original series lately and they loved this book. It also wasn't tedious for me to read and wasn't overly long as some of these tv books are.
If you have a kid that is a fan of the original series, this is a great pickup. If you know someone who grew up on this series and maybe collects some of the original Turtles stuff, this could be a fun little gift for them to add to their collection

Great book to introduce TMNT

My kiddos love this book. It tells the origin of how the turtles became the TMNT and Splinter their teacher and highlights each turtles strengths. It also highlights the main villains they face.

Great Book

I got this book for my Son, he really likes TMNT. This book pretty much explains how the turtles became TMNT. He really enjoys the book and we read it every other night, along with his other books.
Highly Recommend this book. I believe the price for this book is reasonable, almost better than stores. Haven't seen this one in stores.
